Hero Essay which got a mark of A+ by 14 year old @adamizmydrug




My hero was recently discovered from a hit television show called American Idol. His name is Adam Lambert and he was the runner up on the show in Season 8 and is now an international superstar. Adam was born on January 29, 1982 in Indianapolis, Indiana. He grew up in San Diego and currently lives in Los Angeles, CA when he is not touring the world. Adam's occupation is a singer/songwriter. Adam is my hero because he inspires me and his music always puts a smile on my face.


Adam inspiries me to do great things. When he was younger, he would always have a role in plays at school and he was even in the cast of Wicked for a couple years. I remember watching an interview where he was saying how he was nervous when he first started acting but he eventually got comfortable with it. His message to the fans was to not be afraid and go for it. When the date for drama auditions was revealed, it evoked the advice Adam had given in that interview. I signed up for the audition and after it took place I was notified that I had gotten the lead. I was so thrilled about getting the part and I wish I could thank Adam for giving me the courage to do something out of my comfort zone.


Adam's music and voice is soothing and it helps me through hard times. To hear Adam's voice is like hearing an angel singing to you. My favorite song of his is "Aftermath" because the message is that no matter what happens you will be okay in the end. Whenever I'm feeling sad I listen to that song and it's like a breath of fresh air. I've seen Adam in concert five times and each time he didn't fail to amaze me. His voice is absolutely flawless and I don't know how it's possible for someone to have such ability. Adam has been brought to this Earth to warm and comfort us, to lift us up, to fill our hearts with happiness, to make us laugh and smile, to make us cry tears of joy, and to make us want to listen to music again.


Adam has so many wonderful qualities, but his best one is kindness. When I watch videos of Adam meeting his fans, it warms my heart to see how he talks to them like he's known them for years. I've met him twice so far but very briefly. The first time was on September 13, 2009 in Providence, RI. Adam came outside after his concert to sign autographs. He signed my iPod and the shirt I was wearing. I told him I loved him and that he was gorgeous and when he said "thank you", and put his hand over mine I totally melted. Even though he only spoke two words to me it was special and he said it so warmly, with a smile on his face. The second time I met him was on August 23, 2010 in Albany, NY. Again, he came outside to sign augotgraphs after his show. I was the last person he came to. He signed my ticket and I asked him for a hug. He was sweet enough to hug me and make that night one I would never forget. I was obviously bawling my eyes out at that point and he gave me a beautiful smile before he walked to his bus. Adam is such a sweetheart and I'm thankful for having the opportunity to meet such a stunning person.


Not only does Adam inspire me to do great things, he also inspires me to be a better person. I try to emulate the qualities he has such as kindness and compassion. I can pass along these values that Adam has instilled in me by cheering someone up when they are sad or upset. I can also greet someone I might not know that well so I can hopefully brighten their day. Adam Lambert is my hero and the astonishing man I love very dearly.
