Thanks to everyone who showed up at 7PM EST to start trending #AdamBehindtheMusic.  There were so many of us that we should have trended right away.  Watching the numbers and the trendmap, I knew we had an issue.  But @Vh1 and @adamlambert had asked us to trend #AdamBehindtheMusic so I kept my tweet thoughts to myself.

Finally, at 9:30PM EST (half hour before BTM), I had an idea:

Why do I love Adam Lambert? Well…….

His voice – To me Adam’s talent is nothing short of extraordinary. He is truly gifted. I’ve been listening to Adam sing on a daily basis for more than 2 years now and his voice STILL takes my breath away and makes goose pimples rise up on my skin. I have a very passionate and personal relationship with Adam’s voice. My ear is trained to it, I recognize it instantly. Every tone and inflection and all of those other insane things he does with his voice (none of which I know the technical term for) my ear knows them and knows they are Adam.

His courage – It pains me to learn more about the struggles that Adam has endured in his life in his search for acceptance and his place in this world yet, I’m reminded by a lyric from Adam’s own song ‘scars make us who we are’, that those struggles, one by one, have led Adam on a journey to find himself and become comfortable in his own skin. A less courageous man may have just accepted a life of confusion and self-loathing. Now that Adam has conquered his so-called identity crisis and is clearly a healthy, happy person and very proud of his sexuality he courageously refuses to live his life in any manner other than that which is being true to him.  His mantra of #realness isn’t just a façade or an attempt to be trendy. Adam truly lives the #realness and that in itself requires a tremendous amount of courage.

His kind, accepting heart – The enormity of Adam’s heart continues to both amaze and inspire me. Actually it doesn’t amaze me so much anymore because I have come to understand that this is just Adam being Adam. We all know that Adam can be unpredictable and we love that about him; however there is a kindness and a love for humankind at the core of this man that never wavers. Observing him on a daily basis for so long now interacting with family, friends, fans, industry people and just encounters with random people I’ve come to realize that people who interact with Adam, no matter how briefly are touched by it. He leaves an indelible impression on people by treating them respectfully and always exhibiting kindness, generosity and compassion. Adam is, as my Father used to say “good people”. Because of Adam I often find myself feeling more compassionate towards people and definitely less judgmental.

His philanthropic spirit – Philanthropy is broadly defined as ‘the love of humanity’. While Adam’s charity efforts are nothing short of astounding and the money raised under his projects has assisted in improving the quality of life for countless people, his reasons for choosing the charities that he has chosen and his imaginings of the improvements that will result from successful funding of those charities exemplifies true philanthropy more than the act of writing out a check. Adam’s philanthropic nature is also evident in his enthusiastic support of his many talented friends. Spreading good karma and sharing his success with them is just something that Adam does naturally with no expectations except to see them thrive in their art and to see them succeed. “A philanthropist knows the act of philanthropy before knowing the definition of the word”. I like this :)

His positive attitude – Adam’s positive attitude is absolutely infectious. Even when faced with negativity and hate Adam maintains a positive, hopeful outlook on life and of the world. MANY people could benefit from taking Adam’s lead here because negativity can spread inside you and literally permeate your mind and heart with its vile infection and encase you in a life of misery. Positive thinking doesn’t just happen automatically. We are all human and prone to dwell on the negative from time to time. Adam actively PRACTICES positive thinking. I admire him for that and have really tried to do the same in my own life.

His passion – Adam’s passion for life is inspiring. He is one of those rare individuals who really lives his life to the fullest each and every day. He doesn’t allow opportunities to pass him by because of fear or other obstacles. Adam approaches everything he does with an intense enthusiasm and fervent passion.

His work ethic – Adam is a work horse but he doesn’t get burned out because he loves his work and we love him for that. I’ve been amazed at how hard he had to work coming off of Idol touring and releasing his album then touring again. I’m glad he finally got some time to just *breathe* for a while and enjoy his success and his personal life and also to really take his time on the 2nd album and immerse himself completely in the creative process without a strict deadline breathing down his neck. But I’m so excited that the horse is already at a trot for Adam Storm 2.0 and will be ramping up to a gallop very, very soon.

His beauty – Adam’s beauty is undeniable I mean c’mon. He’s gorgeous. I never get tired of looking at him. He just glows with beauty and health and happiness and his inner beauty radiates from within.

His smile – Adam has a smile that lights up a room, a theater, an arena, and people’s hearts. Oh and lest we not forget the beautiful lips and enticingly delicious lip freckles ;)

His hair – Adam has AMAZING hair. I think we all agree that we’d love to run our fingers through it. I don’t really care whether he wears it up or down. It’s always exciting to see how he’s going to wear his hair and I love to look at photos of all the different hairstyles he has sported. A special thanks to Leila here for the good hair genes :)

His eyes – Adam’s eyes are something special. They are so deep and expressive. Even in a photograph they just reach out and grab your heart. When you make eye contact with him it sends an electrified jolt of WOW throughout your entire body. And those eyelashes…I mean WOW!

His sexiness – Adam is sexy. That point cannot be denied. Gay, straight, it doesn’t even matter. His sex appeal transcends gender and orientation. I’ll keep this point short and sweet because I could easily find myself going into inappropriate land with my words ;) I’ll just summarize by saying “Adam, I’m so obsessed with your sexiness….PLEASE give us more, more, more!”

His physique – I’m absolutely in love with Adam’s body :) Not trying to be inappropriate here, but I just love it, I love looking at it. I love the leanness of him, his long sleek limbs and torso, the lines of his body. He’s like a work of art in delicious, salacious motion. The way he moves….is……UNF!

His intelligence – Adam is extremely intelligent. I find intelligence very sexy. I would love to spend an evening with him just discussing music or history or art and drink a lot of red wine :)

His music – Adam’s music is to me, as I’m sure to all other Adam fans, a very precious thing. I have a personal relationship with each and every song and a deep love for the pieces of himself that Adam injected into his songs. As his body of music expands there will be more music for us all to embrace and fall in love with all over again.

His innate ability to entertain and thrill his audience – Adam is a natural born performer. He truly was “born to do this” as he has said. On American Idol he grabbed us all with his electrifying performances. Whether he was jumping all around the stage during an up-tempo number or just standing there belting out a ballad he had the whole world in the palm of his hand….melting like butter. Seeing Adam perform live was the 4 greatest experiences of my entire life! He really lives to perform for his fans and it shows. He feeds off of the audience as the audience feeds off of him (Infinity symbol tattoo NAILED it because Adam is such a very astute observer). When he is on stage you can’t take your eyes off him and when he leaves the stage the massive void is palpable. He makes you sing, makes you dance, makes you think, makes you laugh, and he makes you cry. He leaves you sweaty and breathless, sated but always wanting more.

The Glamily – The Glamily is Adam, his wonderful family, his boyfriend, his close friends, his artist friends and all the wonderful people he has worked with combined with an incredibly cohesive and massive network of fans around the world. I have met so many incredible people through Adam and I’m so proud to be a part of this amazing Glamily. The Glamily is strong, the Glamily sticks together, the Glamily is powerful, the Glamily is changing the world, bit by bit, into a happier, more accepting place to be. You know that thing that Kevin Bacon has that connects the dots of all the people he’s worked with? There should be something like that for Adam showing all the people whose lives he has touched. It would be massive!

I love Adam for all these reasons and more. He is just special. He lives in my heart and makes it feel happier.
