"The “If I Had You” video shoot was something I had anticipated for some time. In addition to the fantastic beat and melody, the song’s lyrics are what really stand out to me about this uplifting jam. It explores all the glitz of life in celebrity culture but reveals how it can all be a facade without true connectivity to others. The message is one of Love. Over the past year, in addition to my unbelievable opportunities, I have also been faced with the unique challenge of staying positive in light of some critics and closed mindedness. My friends, family, and my devoted fans have been a key force in keeping me grounded. I wanted to make a video that paid tribute to the wonderful people who’ve inspired me to become the artist and spirit I am today.


Director Bryan Barber’s video treatment fit so perfectly with my intention! His vision was so clear! I was a big fan of his previous work and he was so easy to collaborate with. The type of gathering he wanted to re-create was one similar to the Burning Man Festival I have often cited as a major artistic turning point in my life. The impact of this experience has mostly to do with the eclectic community that it draws. About 5 years ago, after growing bored and unsatisfied with the cliché Hollywood “scene” I discovered this fascinating counter-culture of underground designers, performance artists and various bohemians. So we agreed to invite my real-life friends to be a part of the video!


To ensure an authentic representation of unique individuals, instead of using one stylist, everyone was asked to dress themselves however they desired. All we told them was: “Psychedelic tribal party in the forest!” One of the main themes I wanted to get across is that no matter your race, sexuality, age, or religion, we can all come together in the spirit of peace and love and have fun!


We shot overnight near LA’s Griffith Park and had a blast. I had way too much fun in my trailer getting styled. I was dressed in Galliano, The Blondes, and Skingraft. We fused high Glam rock with a boho-tribal-world traveler vibe. I’m lucky to work with such a creative glam team! I was also thrilled to feature my band, dancers and a special guest all of whom will be appearing on my upcoming Glam Nation Tour.


I believe that this video is the perfect follow up to the angst of Whataya Want From Me. If that song begged to ask the questions, this one joyfully gives the answers. Enjoy!"

Adam Inspires Story thanks to Jody

Adam came about at a time in my life when I needed to rediscover myself…when I needed to remember I was Jody, not just a mommy, a home school teacher, a wife.  Since watching him sing Black & White (my kids called me into the room as I am a huge Michael Jackson fan) I was hooked on his charisma & talent. The last time I was enamored with a musician was when I was 12 & it was Michael. 

And, there I was….as I listened to Adam sing Black or White I was transported back to that part of myself that was 12.  That part of me that was hopeful and believed anything was possible.

In this rediscovery, I’d learned that I’d lost my voice and my drive to live my life….to really live my life.  Before I knew it, I’d made drastic changes in my marriage, with my friends, with my body and even my personal life journey.  I can’t say it was an easy journey; one I’m still on, however it has been a necessary journey. 

This journey has taken me to shows in CA, MN, WI, IN, MI and IL.  I worked with a venue in MN, purchasing a block of 46 tickets that I sold to fans at cost, and organized a fan banquet.  Believing the gentlemen I worked with would “take care of me” I envisioned meeting Adam.  However, the venue didn’t follow through.  Devastated that my best friend & I drove 11 hours in the belief that I’d meet Adam and didn’t, I was heartbroken.

 Taking life by the horns, we detoured to the other venue in, MN, with no show tickets, & took a chance that we’d find band members to sign my kid’s library book & a picture. We’d run into Monte, who for no other reason than a generous heart, gave me two meet & greet passes in my daughter’s book!  How this totally unplanned intervention happened is beyond me, but I will forever be grateful that this once in a lifetime experience fell into my lap!  We also scored tickets in the 3^rd row which lead us to a stage standing spot.  

Unimaginable as it may seem, I was able to meet Adam & snap a picture.  I don’t remember very much of the 5 minute, semi-private encounter as my adrenaline surged so high that my memory is almost blank.  But, he signed my two daughters’ items, my silver fedora hat as well as my forearm.  Crazy as it may seem, I had Adam’s signature tattooed in memoriam of my life journey of rediscovery that he has ignited in me through his voice, talents & messages. 

It is because of Adam that I’m living life most genuinely.  It is because of him that I’m closer to a place of peace in my marriage.  It is because of Adam that I now live in the space of my young heart.  Who wouldn’t want that?
